Oasis is a beautiful oceanfront restaurant in Kapaa, that showcases the best of what Kauai has to offer in cuisine, service and ambiance. When we opened Oasis in 2010 we were the only truly farm to table restaurant on Kauai. Our Chef was buying produce from the weekly Farmers Markets throughout the island and fresh caught local seafood from sustainable long line fishermen. It was a challenge to have a consistent supply of produce at that time, as there weren’t a lot of small farmers. Today, 6 years later, we are still shopping the Kapaa farmers market on Wednesdays where you may see our chef filling up his hand cart with locally produced treasures. The difference now is that we have a lot of new farms on the island, some of which are supplying us with a regular flow of produce. With that support we have expanded our current menu way beyond the simple one page menu we started with.
Our current menu is comprised of locally produced items from several sources including Makaweli Ranch grass fed Kauai beef and Niihau raised sheep and Élan, Kunana Dairy products, Growing Strong Farms produce, Passion Bakery breads and buns, Papalani Gelatos, McPhee’s Bees honey and honeycomb, Kailani Farms produce, Kauai Coffee straight from the plantation to you, Auntie Lisa produce, legendary Kauai fisherman Kevin Yamase and many others not named here.
Throughout the years we have stayed true to our mission statement to only use locally grown products, holding true to this philosophy we hand pick our wines, craft beers, and create the freshest cocktails from local ingredients. One of our favorites on the dinner menu is the Sakura Pork Chop served with murungai, nahm prink nom, fried saimin noodles, and pako fern. This will be one of the best pork chops you’ve ever tasted. We are getting them from a sustainable, free range farm in Iowa raising Duroc Pigs, a heritage breed of excellent quality. We also regularly have 28oz Tomahawk Rib Eye Buffalo Steaks from the Dakotas in the US, Kangaroo Strip loins from Australia along with tasty Wagyu beef from New Zealand.
Our Chef’s are always experimenting with new products and new ways of using old standbys. Our incredible desserts are house made from scratch – you have to try the Phyllo cup with fresh made curd and/or the Apple Banana spring roll with salt pond gelato, the #1 favorite. Don’t think we’ve forgotten all of you chocolate lovers as we have our Oasis Terrine with a dark chocolate, Kahlua and Kauai coffee mousse and a house made Absinthe-almond biscotti. When you visit us be prepared to taste something you’ve never had before!
When you come to Oasis you will be dining in an absolutely beautiful oceanfront setting with your table just steps away from the beach. Every table has an ocean view and there is also a very nice seaside walkway for a stroll before or after dinner fronting the restaurant.
If you are lucky enough to dine on a night when the moon is rising you will be amazed at the spectacular panorama of the rising moon over the ocean.
